RIVEN & STONE SMOOTH :

Applications :

Interiors: Kitchens, Halls, Conservatories
Exteriors: Terraces, Driveways, Paths

Formation : The stone is quarried and reduced into sizes manageable to work, this is split along the naturally formed seams that occur within the stone, reducing the thickness and producing a naturally riven surface. If necessary it can be hand dressed, or sawn to provide a smooth flat surface, whilst the different sizes are produced by chiselling. A template is used to ensure that the sides are parallel.

For internal applications we recommend the stone is coated with a stone sealant so that maintenance of the floor can be kept to minimal, preventing staining and are easily wiped clean.

Internal.



Most modern residential housing have existing concrete flooring with 50mm thick of screed on top. It may be necessary to remove the screed to make allowance for the thickness of the stone & mortar bed.

External.

STONE & GRANITE SETS :

Applications:
Garden edging, inset panels, drives, paths

Formation: These are produced in exactly the same way as the riven stone paving.
The granite sets are then tumbled to give them a worn and aged appearance.

Stone can be cut if necessary with the use of a powered cutting tool incorporating a suitable diamond tipped blade which can be hired from your local tool hire centre.
